Perthshire’s favourite food and drink festival, Perthshire On A Plate (POAP), is gearing up for a very special edition in 2025 – celebrating its 10th year at the Perth Show with a packed programme of producers, pop-ups, and a much-anticipated return from its very first celebrity chef, Rosemary Shrager.
Taking place on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd August 2025 on the South Inch, and run by Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, POAP will once again showcase the very best of local food and drink alongside the region’s much-loved agricultural show. Sponsored by Binn Group, the event has become a staple of the summer calendar – and 2025 promises to be the biggest and most celebratory yet.
Rosemary Shrager Returns to Headline POAP’s 10th Anniversary
In a fitting tribute to the festival’s journey, POAP is thrilled to announce the return of celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager – who headlined the very first Perthshire On A Plate in 2016 and will now return to mark its tenth year.
A household name, author and beloved TV personality, Rosemary brings her signature warmth, wit, and passion for local produce to the POAP Cookery Theatre, where she will join a stellar line-up for two days of cooking demonstrations, foodie tips and culinary storytelling.
10 Years of Local Flavour – From Field to Fork
Since 2016, POAP has championed the local food and drink sector, giving a platform to Perthshire’s talented chefs, makers and growers. What began as a bold new addition to the Perth Show has grown into a bustling, must-attend event that draws thousands of visitors from across Scotland and beyond.
From the Cookery Theatre to the Pop-Up Dining Area, every part of the festival is designed to showcase the quality, diversity and innovation of local food. Audiences can expect back-to-back demos from local favourites and industry experts – all using regional produce to create dishes bursting with flavour and flair. The cookery theatre is expertly run by the team from UHI Perth who have also been an integral part of the initiative since the very beginning too.
Pop-Ups, Producers and a Taste of the World
One of POAP’s most popular attractions is the Pop-Up Restaurant Area, where visitors can enjoy sample-sized dishes from a mix of local restaurants and street food vendors – offering everything from traditional Perthshire fare to global cuisines, all served in a relaxed, covered dining space.
Across the site, a wide selection of local producers and artisan makers will be offering tastings and products to buy, from preserves and honey to charcuterie, cheeses, drinks and baked treats.
Standholder interest is already high, with a stellar line-up of returning favourites and new faces confirmed – but some spaces remain, and applications are still open.
Vicki Unite, Chief Executive of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and organiser of Perthshire On A Plate, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating 10 years of Perthshire On A Plate – and it feels so fitting to welcome back Rosemary Shrager, who was with us for our very first year as part of the Perth Show in 2016. Since then, the event has grown into a flagship celebration of our region’s food and drink, and we can’t wait to share this special anniversary edition with everyone.”
She added:
“We’ve got a brilliant line-up of cookery demonstrations, fabulous local producers (and some of those (and we’ll celebrate them also) have been with us on the entire journey), and of course our buzzing pop-up restaurant area offering delicious dishes from both Perthshire and around the world. This event is a real team effort, and we’re so grateful to all our sponsors, chefs, stallholders, and volunteers who help bring it to life.”
Jen Leslie, Secretary of the Perth Show, said:
“It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since POAP first accepted our invitation to join the Perth Show – but what an impact it’s had. It has helped us tell the full field-to-fork story, linking farming and food in a way that engages all ages. We are delighted to welcome POAP back again this year and proud to celebrate this milestone with Rosemary Shrager back where it all began!”
